Run the complete evidence loop

Mock design, calibration, communication, and repair

A mock interview is useful only when it produces diagnostic evidence.

Choose tasks that sample different capabilities, preserve realistic time and communication constraints, and score observable behaviors with a stable rubric. Record decisions and turning points, not just pass or fail. Separate knowledge gaps from pressure and communication failures, repair the smallest prerequisite, then retest with a structurally similar but unfamiliar problem.

Practice should reduce a measured weakness, not rehearse the feeling of interviewing.

Feedback fails when it is global, delayed, or unactionable.

Statements such as “be more senior” or “communicate better” do not identify a behavior to change. Anchor feedback to a moment, explain its consequence, show an alternative, and assign a bounded retry. Avoid overwhelming the learner with every imperfection; choose the earliest gap with the largest downstream effect.

One causal correction rehearsed immediately beats a page of impressions.
